An all-William-Grant-Still concert sponsored by the Tuesday Morning Club. The Tuesday Morning Club was composed of women from Pasadena, California, who were interested in civic affairs. The primary objective of the club was to encourage the cultural aspects of the community and to participate in civic affairs through active cooperation with service groups. It was organized in 1941. Not only did Still's wife, Verna Arvey, take part in the concert but the composer gave an address at the occasion.
