Questions to be Considered:
Lorraine -- Xerox. repairs & maintains copying machines. got job there Urban League LEAP untraditional jobs for women. other people in training are mainly black men. 4-6 months training before actually starts work. one other woman in Atl. [?] as techinician. like Sears in being alone -- but Sears went to houses -- instead of offices. slick (professional) type job as compared with Sears -- nice clothes not jeans. attache case rather than tool tox. longest job ever had was Sears for 7 [?] months. all supervision white men. Comparative pro-company propaganda -- similar to Sears more than Southern Bell. alot of propaganda the 1st week. Xerox says they are multi-national (but not imperialistic) raises are all based on individual merit. men act like they've been briefed & they are encouraging. 120-130 techs [?] in Atlanta. most hired in last 2 years. told what they can & can't say about Xerox products & competition's products -- mostly they are anticipating competition. training center isolated little town in Leesburg.
Sally - question of professionalism as a job or being identified with a particular company.
Criticism & self-criticism
people being late
